REPORTING ACCIDENTS

All accidents involving injury or exposure to toxic chemicals must be reported to the Laboratory

Supervisor and the Lab Health and Safety Officer immediately. If an injury results from an

accident, an accident report form must be filled out by the personnel directly involved.

Laboratory personnel should be aware that reporting an accident is secondary to personal safety.

The first response should be First Aid. When the risk of further injury has been eliminated, the

site of the accident should be cleaned thoroughly and checked by the Lab Health and Safety -

Officer.
